Make mini zines with a local artist!
Learn all about the art of zine making in this workshop with local artist and zinester Samuel Horton.
Zines are small, self-published booklets that let you express yourself through art, writing, comics, poetry, or whatever inspires you. Whether you’re into storytelling, activism, journaling, or doodling, zines are a fun and personal way to share your voice. Create a mini zine, and take home your very own zine making kit!
This program is for teens in grades 7-12. All supplies will be provided. Log your attendance in our 2025 Challenge Yourself Challenge for a chance to win a prize at the end of the summer!
Samuel Horton is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist with a strong DIY ethos and a special focus on no-budget filmmaking and zine making. He self-published the feminist queer art zine Kate Butch and has an ongoing series of horror zines that explore different facets of the genre.
