Celebrate National Poetry Month with us at this special event featuring poet and essayist John Wall Barger.
Barger is the author of six full-length poetry collections including Smog Mother and Resurrection Fail. He will share selections from his latest work, Resurrection Pie, and 2024 book of essays exploring the intersection of poetry and film, The Elephant of Silence. Miriam Calleja will facilitate a discussion and audience Q&A. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
A widely recognized voice in contemporary poetry, Barger has been a finalist for numerous awards and a recipient of multiple Canada Council grants. His writing has appeared in publications such as American Poetry Review, The Cincinnati Review, and Rattle. His work spans poetry, essays, and translation, reflecting a life lived across North America, Europe, and Asia. He’s currently a contract editor at Frontenac House, lives in Vermont, and teaches at Dartmouth College.
