Learn to make tanghulu at O'Neal Library! Ingredients and supplies provided. Registration REQUIRED.
We're making candied fruit at O'Neal Library! Tanghulu is a popular sweet treat that originated during the Song Dynasty in China (960 to 1279) as sugar coated hawthorne berries, but they're a popular street food at Spring and Summer Festivals in South Korea and Japan too.
All ingredients and supplies provided. Please share any food allergies or dietary needs in "Food Adjustments" when registering for this event. Tanghulu should NOT be eaten by teens with braces. An alternative braces-friendly food activity will be provided at this event.
This program is for teens in grades 7-12. Registration is REQUIRED. Got questions? Email young adult librarian Michelle Cheng at teens@oneallibrary.org. DIY Yums is a monthly food event at O'Neal Library featuring quick & easy recipes inspired by social media trends, books, and Teen Advisory Board interests. DIY Yums is NOT a meal-substitute, and students should bring their own snacks/food to eat when hungry.
