Discover the art of rug tufting in this hands-on workshop led by Andrea Willis of Tuft Birmingham, where you'll craft a beautiful rug from scratch. Rug tufting is a technique used to create rugs by punching yarn or thread through a base fabric using a tufting gun or needle. This process allows for the creation of various patterns, textures, and designs on the rug’s surface.
All the supplies needed to create a hand-tufted rug will be provided: tufting machines, frames, and cloth. Tuft Birmingham handles all finishing service: gluing, shaving, and backing the rug. Finished rugs will be between 24"-27".
Whether you're seasoned or a beginner, Andrea's class will offer a unique opportunity to explore the world of rug tufting in a supportive and inspiring environment. Join us and explore the possibilities of rug tufting! For more information about Tuft Birmingham, visit the website at www.tuftbirmingham.com.
Light refreshments will be available. For more information, contact Holley at 205-445-1117 or hwesley@oneallibrary.org. Event image is for illustrative purposes only. Rug design for the event has not yet been set and will differ.
