Braid bread to bake at home! Ingredients provided.
Learn to braid sweet-filled bread at O'Neal Library! The recipes are inspired by babka and challah techniques. Students will practice different braiding techniques with fabric, make at least two braided breads, and bake their treats at home at 350-degrees Fahrenheit for 30-35 minutes. Braided bread sourced from local bakeries and librarians can be tasted during the event.
All ingredients and supplies provided. Nutella, raspberry jam, and cinnamon sugar filling will be provided. Please share any food allergies or dietary needs in "Food Adjustments" when registering for this event. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be prepared with advanced notice.
This program is for teens in grades 7-12. Registration is REQUIRED. Got questions? Email young adult librarians Michelle Cheng and Gracie Roth at teens@oneallibrary.org. DIY Yums is a monthly food event at O'Neal Library featuring quick & easy recipes inspired by social media trends, books, and Teen Advisory Board interests. DIY Yums is NOT a meal-substitute, and students should bring their own snacks/food to eat when hungry.
