I am a retired National Board-Certified teacher of thirty-eight years, having a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lee University and a master’s degree in TESOL, Teaching English to Students of Other Languages, from UAB.
Currently, I am the new part-time Administrative Assistant at the O’Neal Library where I primarily manage donor relations for the Mountain Brook Library Foundation and do what I can to assist the Library Administration and Staff.
I have two daughters who graduated from Montevallo University, one with a Music Education degree and one with an Art degree. I love all animals but have three cats who live with me and boss me around. In my free time, I enjoy kayaking and rock hounding. I enjoy being in the field collecting fossils and mineral specimens in crystal form. I adore spending time with my family cooking, making music or sitting around the living room or fire, talking, and laughing. Having sung together all our lives, my family sings mostly Fa-Sol-La (The Sacred Harp) and bluegrass music. I love to read early British mysteries, poetry, and history.
