Join us Under the Mountain for a screening of The Lair of the White Worm (1988), camp auteur Ken Russell’s outrageous adaptation of Bram Stoker’s lesser-known horror fantasy.
It’s 1911, and terror ensnares a British countryside when archeology student Angus Flint (Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi) uncovers what looks to be the skull of a giant snake. Soon, Flint and Lord James D'Ampton (Hugh Grant) find themselves tangling with a bizarre cult that worships a monstrous serpent that was believed to have been slain by one of D'Ampton's ancestors. As people begin disappearing and acting strangely, it appears that the cult, led by the venomous Lady Sylvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe), are attempting to resurrect their evil god—and only our heroes may be able to stop them!
