I received my Master’s in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama. I started at O’Neal Library in 2006 after having previously taught early childhood education at Jefferson State.
I chose the name Movers and Makers for my storytime because I enjoy sharing children's books that dynamically inspire creativity. As the Community Outreach Librarian, I spend much of my time either at schools or producing O'Neal's many Community Pop Ups. As someone who believes anything you need to know can be learned from a children's book, I also curate the beautiful and browsable Children's nonfiction collection.
When not at the library or in the community telling stories and talking about books, I can be found traveling with my husband or at home with our own three almost grown children: a Disney nerd, an activist, and a ballet dancing soccer player.
