Daniel Daughhetee

Head of Circulation

I have a BA in History from the University of Montevallo, and a Master’s Degree in Library Information Science from the University of Alabama. I started at O’Neal as a clerk in 2008 and became Head of Circulation in 2020.

I love making patrons’ experiences as smooth and seamless as possible. My favorite thing to hear is “That was easy!” The bullfrog I once rescued from the fiction section and rehomed in Shades Creek couldn’t say that, but I’m confident he felt it.

When asked what I think are the greatest challenges facing libraries in the next five years, I would say libraries will have to impress upon city and county leaders how valuable they are to the community and will have to communicate to the public that they can’t be taken for granted.
